Born from necessity of breaking conventional rules, Making new and interesting possibilities  of changing each piece with a lot of different options thought by the artist. Sometimes it-s the eyes and the mouths that can be interchanged to modify completely the mood of the pieces themselves or their spectators.



In this case the characters change backdrops making it possible for them to move from one piece to the other and at the same time changing the format.

Charó works in various different pieces at the same time, planning from the beginning that each of the characters combines with each back drop, harmonizing all the different technics, colors, strokes, and shapes. That is why someone might get just a backdrop from one side, or a lot of them from the other, adapting them to a horizontal or vertical format as necessary, also the backdrop without any of the characters can be  acquired as a piece by itself. In this particular case there's around 23 different unique combinations.

They start being
developed in first 2000s, these high relief paintings are born from the
need of the artist to escape from conventional flat plane to create a
volume that can be perceived sideways. 

These art pieces have a
completely different aspect according to the angle at which you look at
it or how the light is projected onto them. Gastón Charó experimentation
starts by giving a rock like texture to his characters to then evolve
through the years into nowadays work. 

Original and unique pieces that
create a mixture between sculpture and painting on canvas.

Se empiezan a desarrollar en los primeros años 2000, estos cuadros en
relieve nacen de la necesidad del artista de salirse del convencional
plano para crear un volumen que se pueda ver de perfil. Estas obras
cobran un aspecto completamente diferente según el ángulo en las que se
las miren o de cómo se les proyecta la luz. Gastón Charó empieza
experimentando creando una textura que recuerda la roca y va
evolucionando con los años hasta llegar a las obras de hoy en día.
Piezas únicas y originales que crean una fusión entre esculturas y
pinturas sobre tela.

 Les peintures en relief ont commencé à se développer au début des années
2000. Elles sont nées du besoin de l'artiste d'échapper au plan
conventionnel plat pour créer un volume qui peut être perçu de côté. Ces
oeuvres d'art ont un aspect complètement différent selon l'angle de vue
et la manière dont on projette la lumière sur elles. Durant ses essais,
Gastón Charó commencent par donner une texture qui ressemble à celle de
la pierre à ses personnages. Ils les a fait évoluer au fil des années
et jusqu'à aujourd'hui grâce à son travail. Ce sont des pièces
originales et uniques qui créent un mélange entre sculptures et
peintures sur toile.
